The Small Farmer is the Vanishing Species
I have to qualify my Grandparents farming from the era from which they came. The Victory Garden was an important way in which families were self sustaining during World War II by having a garden from which they could depend on to get fresh vegetables, fruit and nuts as well as chicken and beef. Canning and freezing for a force of children and grandchildren resulted. We could depend on getting dried apricots for Christmas, fresh tomatoes all summer, homemade grape juice measured out meekly and Grandma's excellent home made whole wheat bread and jam. How I miss it. All this...
A good story is hard to put down. As in The Reluctant Seamstress.
The Reluctant Seamstress - These are the golden years of youth in summer. Just finished a classic, Black Beauty with my book club kids. Do you have a favorite quote? "I grew very fond of him, he was so gentle and kind. He seemed to know just how a horse feels, and when he cleaned me, he knew the tender places and the ticklish places. When he brushed my head, he went as carefully over my eyes as if they were his own, and never stirred up any ill temper." (5.21) Here's something Beauty wants you to understand: A horse...

(7.7) Over and over, Black Beauty shows us the good and bad of animal treatment—and here's more of the bad. While some men have empathy toward the animals they raise, some don't. Ginger tells the story of her childhood to Beauty, and while Beauty...
America the Beautiful!
Happy Independence Day! Featuring American Barns across this great land. Have a safe 4th of July. We leave the light on for you, artlegacyshop.com Home Decor. Matt. 6:34 "So don't be anxious about tomorrow. God will take care of your tomorrow too. Live one day at a time." Painted as a class demonstration on location by Deanne Lemley AWS. NWS. NWWS.
Watching the ships roll in....
Painting in the evening sun, ....wasting time. Every thing seem's to stay the same... Doesn't that remind you of Otis Redding? That's why I like hanging something on the wall that takes me someplace I want to be. What about you? The docks. Smell of salt water. A warm day? And if you're going to make over a room, a lobby....isn't that a great blue to work with? Find YOUR bliss artlegacyshop.com
