The ABCs of selecting a subject for painting is: place, a grove, models, (that will be in one area and reasonably attentive, time and lighting. The female figure will stay seated. The dog on leash will be workable. The two young boys will present another dilemma, but certainly more then worth the effort. The result, the mother, her boys and dog, bathed in light with a memorable and fascinating image. The one stays close to mothers skirts while the other is off like a shot exploring by himself, I think all mothers can relate. The rich colors and sweet, little black Schipperke pup adds to a childhood memory of good times growing up.
